Harvesting Hope 2008 DOVE, Inc. Harvesting Hope 2008 Gala DOVE, Inc.'s 2008 Harvesting Hope Annual Event was held at Granite Links Golf Club on Friday, October 17th. The event succeeded in bringing in over $75,000 and was attended by over 350 DOVE supporters. Over the last three decades DOVE has sheltered more than 4,350 families and answered more than 38,600 crisis hotline calls. Since its establishment 5 years ago, DOVE's Outreach and Family Service Center has served more than 1,300 families and educated more than 13,000 people on the many complex issues related to domestic violence. In celebration of DOVE's 30 year commitment to supporting domestic violence victims, this event highlighted the vast array of services offered by the agency. All proceeds from the event will go to supporting domestic violence services and education within the communities of Norfolk County. Money was raised to support specific programs offered by DOVE, such as emergency food assistance to victims and community-based support groups. In celebration of 30 years of services, Harvesting Hope 2008 recognized 30 community members, identified as Pillars of Hope, for their commitment to the agency and important contributions to the field of domestic violence services. The thirty Pillars of Hope were: David Adams, Sheriff Michael Bellotti, Shameeka Brown, Bruce Carr, Jeanmarie Carroll, Attorney General Martha Coakley, Congressman William Delahunt, Gwen DeVasto, Barbara DiNatale, Shirley Fan, District Attorney William Keating, Virginia Kurtzman, Paula Mangum, Patrick McDermott, Senator Michael Morrissey, Mary Jo Murphy, Quincy Police Department, First Lady Diane Patrick, Sandy Pimentel, Chief Paul Porter, Barbara Ross, Kristin Ryan, Lt. Charles Santoro, Stacey Sylvester, Erin Trainor, and Isa Woldeguiorguis.
