Save the Date: DOVE's Harvesting Hope October 2nd, 2009

DOVE, Inc. will be hosting its annual fundraiser, Harvesting Hope, on Friday, October 2, 2009. The event will be held at Granite Links in Quincy from 7 pm until 11 pm. Appetizers, light dinner fare, and drinks will be served.

In preparation for Harvesting Hope, DOVE is looking for volunteers, sponsors, as well as auction items. Volunteer opportunities are available to community members in regard to development and event planning. Corporate and private sponsors are invited to advertise their businesses in our program and support DOVE through becoming members of our Community Partners program. Auction items in past years have included Red Sox tickets, Flat-Screen TV's, vacation packages, concert tickets and professional services such as interior decorating.

In celebration of DOVE's 31 year commitment to supporting domestic violence victims, the event highlights the vast array of services offered by DOVE. Over the last three decades, DOVE has sheltered more than 4,350 families and answered more than 38,600 crisis hotline calls. Since the creation of the Outreach and Family Service Center six years ago, DOVE has served more than 1,300 families in the community and educated more than 13,000 people on the many complex issues related to domestic violence.

All proceeds from the event will go to supporting domestic violence services and education within the communities of Norfolk County. Money will be raised to support specific programs offered by DOVE, such as emergency food assistance to victims and community-based support groups.
